The Company
The company’s objective is to obtain granulated rubber by recycling used tyres.
This process is based on the principle of extracting useful products from waste materials, and,
as a consequence, protecting the environment.
Used tyres represent a serious environmental problem in developed countries due to the huge quantities
that are generated annually, the large volume they occupy and the difficulties associated with their disposal.
This situation is a serious concern for both tyre manufacturers and public administrations alike.
A recycling process which makes use of all the components from used tyres is the most useful,
effective and ecological way to deal with this residue.
The RENECAL plant in Guardo (Palencia - Spain) occupies 18.000 m² (between storage facilities and installations)
and has the capacity to treat 15,000 tonnes/year of residual tyre material.
It is the first facility in Spain to be exclusively dedicated to tyre recycling.
Tyre recycling basically consists in separating out the tyres’ basic components; vulcanised rubber in the form
of different sized particles, steel and textile fibres, all of which can be used in new industrial applications.
